SUBA YOUTHS MINISTRIES (associate)

In brief.

Saba youth ministries is a ministry that is found in Kenya , Nyanza province, suba district Mbita division vision bared by a couple (Paul and Erin) having a heart to evangelize and reach youths ,widows ,orphans and other groups of people.

Mbita division is mainly composed of the luo fishing community with vast natural resources but stricken by extreme cases of poverty as a result of HIV cases in the community .these has left young women as widows and young children orphaned.

As a result of these there is high rate of school dropout due to inadequate finances which further has lead to unemployment among the youths and thus vices such as beach prostitution, drug abuses and early marriages are extreme along the beach. youths flock so much in the lake for fishing as the only way and chance to find there livelihood because of feeling inferior education wise.

THE AIM OF THE SUBA YOUTH MINISTRY

1 Brake the interdenominational barriers by bringing activities that involves interdenominational participations i.e. crusades ,seminars., open airs etc These is successfully being achieved as the ministry official members come from fifteen different denominations churches in suba district

2 Tackle together the aforementioned problems among the youths, widows, orphans from the book of 2nd Tim 1,6( Paul’s statement to timothy) star up the gifting in you that you got through the laying of hands

3 To be whatever possible we can be so that the great commission may be accomplished by identifying different classes of people and using the appropriate method/means of reaching them. These made us to form a gospel band team. Young people musically talented and using their gifting to glorify God.

Youths has the potential to bring changes to the next generation if given opportunity.

Youths like programs that are lively and fun in order to do away with baredomnes

Youths like new things and ideas that help them live their dreams and to make it come true

MINISTRIES

1 interdenominational youth rallies.

Youths from different denominations and organizations come together and listen to the word of God from different speakers and teams . dates (April, October and December)

2 end month praise and worship overnights.

Targeting youths and praise teams but open to all .dates .(every month end).a time of worshipping God that makes us feel more close o him

3 music extravaganzas

.(April and December) Incorporating and partnering with other local gospel artist to mobilize large crowds of youths towards an interactive forum and also to motivate youthful spiritual life by the artist and other elects.

4 school missions.

( during school days). Using dramas, skits, poems and songs to reach students of different schools within suba district

5 Movies

Showing Christian movies that impact the youths with teachings, education and encouragements of their faith and to give them hope through Christ .this is done in schools ,churches and at our centre .

6 Beach ministries.

Having fun and games with the beach dwellers along the fresh water lake Victoria ( tag of war, volley ball, football etc as a mode of reaching them out then presenting the gospel after the crowd becomes big. many are coming to Christ as a result of these.

7 Widows ministry

The denomination that is true is one that cares for the widows and orphans.

Having realized the kind of life the widows along the lake are living ,some having HIV virus and that at times some are to be involved in prostitution with the fishermen in order to get some catch to sell, we felt it as suba youth ministry to be part of the solution to their problems. We put the widows into groups raise dairy goats then give them after training them on how to take good care of it. They use the milk for family issues and sell the rest to get money to buy other stuff that they don’t have. We see joy in the lives of the widows that are already in our program

8 orphanage ministries

We have no orphanage of our own but work hand in hand and like so much to be blessing other orphanages that we know by taking teams to help play with the kids and do manual work whenever possible. (New hope orphans school) is found in rongo 40kms away from Mbita. Having more than 100 orphans that needs support for their education and live a life just like any other child .

9 HOSPITAL MINISTRIES

Is very practical as teams visits every room in the hospital and praying for the sick. Also doing a practical ministry by picking the litters and rubbish on the hospital compound, repairing of drainage systems ,planting trees and so on.

Individuals, teams , organizations, churches, youth groups and any other bodies are invited to come and join us hand in the ministry and also witness what the lord is doing to the people of lake Victoria and to help us do more as these is just but the begging
